J1 Blog & Vlog Competition 2023

Share your J1 story to be in with a chance to win up to €300!

We want to hear about your SAYIT J1 summer in the USA, and we're offering cash prizes in return! We've got 1x €300 vlog prize and 2x €150 blog prizea up for grabs.

Here's how to enter: Submit your VLOG or BLOG to j1visa@sayit.ie

We'd love to hear about a combination of the topics listed below:

• Making the decision to go on the J1
• Which city or town you decided to stay in, and why
• What type of employment experience you had
• How you found accommodation
• Your first week/ month in America, and how it went
• Dealing with homesickness
• How you settled into life in the USA
• What you did in your spare time
• What were your favourite aspects of the whole J1 experience
• If you did travelling at the end of the summer
• Any advice you'd give someone planning on doing the J1 in 2024

Blog submissions must have a minimum word count of 1,000 and we’d love to see at least 3 images of your experience too, with you in at least one of the pics. Please attach JPG or PNG to your email, along with your text. 

Vlogs should be between 2-3 minutes long, and must be suitable for distribution on social media: any music used should be royalty-free.

Please make sure you have permission from anyone else featured in your video or photos. Crowds and backgrounds are fine, but if your friends are centre-stage then you'll need to get their ok.

Successful submissions will be given full credit on our platforms- please include your social handles in your entry email. Send your submissions to j1visa@sayit.ie. The three winners will be randomly selected and notified by email.

DEADLINE: Vlogs and Blogs must be submitted by end of day September 15th, 2023

Entry is limited to students who booked their J1 visa with SAYIT J1 for the 2023 programme.

By submitting your entry, you acknowledge that any images or videos you send can be used in our promotional material for future J1 programmes and we have full permission to do so. 

By submitting your entry, you acknowledge that this blog/vlog can be used on our website or social media and we have full permission to do so. 

There will be one prize of €300 cash for one of the vlog entrants, and two prizes of €150 cash each for two for blog entrants. Winners will be selected at random from the entries.
