Accommodation

Accommodation can be rather expensive and difficult to find. It is highly recommended that you begin your search for housing as soon as you've secured your job. The most popular area is Hyannis followed by Falmouth and Dennis port. Provincetown is the most northerly town on the Cape and has a vibrant and funky atmosphere. The main street is where everything takes place so this area is the best to live in for example Sea St, Ocean St, Gosnold St, or Nautical St. 

Dennis Seashores is a unique cottage community that offers a great selection of cottages to rent.

Job Hunting

While there are plenty of jobs in Cape Cod, the market can be quite competitive. Be sure to apply early and often to help your chances of finding work for the summer. A popular employer of J1 students are cruise ship companies such as Hyline Cruises. Supermarket chains like Stop & Shop also take on additional staff during the summer. If staying in Hyannis, jobs are plentiful in the local mall and Main Street. The cinema, sports shops, Gap and Macy's are known for employing Irish students during the summer months.
